Your Friday FansRaise Tip – Incentivize Larger Donations

It’s a well-established fact that working harder AND smarter is the best path to success in just about all things. Crowdfunding campaigns are no different.

When you plan and execute a campaign properly, your campaign will be brought to many dozens, or even HUNDREDS of new donors. They will read your campaign page and then make a decision – sometimes within a fraction of a second – How much should I donate?

That snap decision is made in the moment, and believe it or not, you actually DO have the ability to influence that important decision right then and there.

Use a tiered “incentivization” grid for larger donations…

Campaigns that use a grid, like the ones below from our friends at Cy-Fair High School and the Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps perform extremely well. Your average donation will increase BY FACTORS, as donors will find a tier that is comfortable for them while also stretching the amount beyond what they would have otherwise donated on their own!

Both of these grids are extremely simple to put together graphically, and with just a little pre-planning, any ensemble can come up with similar donation tiers that make sense financially.

If a generic campaign (WITHOUT the above tiers) nets an average donation of $25 improves their average donation to $50 or more, YOU’VE DOUBLED YOUR CAMPAIGN.

Let your campaign work both SMARTER and HARDER by “suggesting” donation amounts to your donors.
